{"id":12005,"date":"2024-03-17T12:25:44","date_gmt":"2024-03-17T11:25:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.latoscane.net\/natural-park-of-maremma\/"},"modified":"2024-11-19T14:27:11","modified_gmt":"2024-11-19T13:27:11","slug":"natural-park-of-maremma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.latoscane.net\/en\/natural-park-of-maremma\/","title":{"rendered":"Natural Park of Maremma"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>Maremma Natural Park<\/strong>, also known as the <strong>Uccellina Park<\/strong>, stretches over almost 10,000 hectares along the coast, with nearly 25 km of coastline from Principina a Mare to Talamone northward and up to 3.5 km inland. <br \/>This protected area preserves a rich nature and fauna, formed by a wet plain, marshland and pine forest in the north, and especially a long coastal ridge of very green hills of the Uccellina Mountains, culminating at 471 meters. They descend towards the sea with cliffs and coves. From this landscape emerge various Etruscan, Roman and medieval remains such as watchtowers and the remains of <strong>Abbey of San Rabano<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Presentation and tour<\/h2>\n<p>The northern plain is crossed by the Ombrone with its mouth and the Trappola marshland. South side of the river extend beyond marshes, water reservoirs, dunes, meadows and a large pine forest, crossed by artificial channels dating back to the time of the bonuses made by the Lorraine. There is also the remarkable abbey of San Rabano. <br \/>This maquis pleases many animals, such as boars, deer, foxes, goats, various reptiles and a multitude of birds.<\/p>\n<p>The coastal portion is one of the few virgin coastlines in Italy, and also one of the most beautiful. On the coast is the beautiful cove of Cala di Forno, the \u00abbeach of the park\u00bb and pretty coves like that of Cannelle.<\/p>\n<h2>Access to the Maremma Park<\/h2>\n<h3>Hours and access<\/h3>\n<p>The park is open from 8:30 am to one hour before sunset. The entrance to the park is for a fee, in 2024 the full price is 10 \u20ac, the reduced price 5 \u20ac.<br \/>Easy access is possible from the <em>Visitor Centre<\/em> of the park in Alberese, where buses leave to reach the main beach of the park, for example. <br \/>The park can be visited by foot, trails are marked for hiking, but also by bike, horseback, canoeing and even donkey riding for children. <br \/>Several routes are marked. The shorter ones require only \u20ac 5 entrance.<\/p>\n<h3>Tickets<\/h3>\n<p>Tickets can be purchased in Alberese during spring and summer, online the rest of the year.<\/p>\n<p>To walk the routes of the park, you need a ticket, which can be purchased at the tourist center of Alberese or online. Ticket sales are reinvested in park maintenance, protection and research. <br \/>Most trails are covered by the full price (10 \u20ac, reduced price 5 \u20ac for children, groups, etc.), those of the plain in the north (A5, A6, A7, A8) and the small T1 in the south by the price at 5 \u20ac (2 \u20ac for the reduced price).<\/p>\n<h2>Abbey of San Rabano<\/h2>\n<p>The remains of the <strong>Abbey of San Rabano<\/strong> are still imposing, remains of the monastery of S. Maria in Alberese.
