{"id":2014,"date":"2024-01-12T17:37:00","date_gmt":"2024-01-12T16:37:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/latoscane.net\/san-miniato\/"},"modified":"2024-11-19T14:24:09","modified_gmt":"2024-11-19T13:24:09","slug":"san-miniato","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.latoscane.net\/en\/san-miniato\/","title":{"rendered":"San Miniato"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>San Miniato<\/strong> is a town of character perched on a hill, located in the Arno Valley, at the bottom of the Val d&#8217;Elsa, between Florence and Pisa, on the Via Francigena.<br \/>It is known for the white truffle typical of its lands. <br \/>In the Middle Ages, the village was called San Miniato al Tedesco, Otto I of Saxony made it a centre of imperial administration in 962, and in 1218 Frederick II of Swabia made it a tax collection centre in central Italy. <br \/>Several events dedicated to its white truffle, including the Truffle Festival of San Miniato on the last three weekends in November. It is displayed on the Cathedral Square on one side, and the Piazza della Repubblica on the other with its older style. <br \/>It has a very beautiful and characteristic facade of concave shape, with their frescoes, along the walls.
