CarraraSince antiquity, Carrara is famous for its white marble, extracted in the hundreds of quarries that surround the city.
The region was already inhabited in the ninth century BC by Ligurians of Celtic origin.
The city was considered a capital of Italian and international anarchist thought. It still remains for some today, even if the form is now more like a local folklore.
